PELOS
This contemporary ritual presents itself as a threshold: a sensory guide to navigating the detachment and the shedding of skin that, silently and collectively, is happening to us.
In an era foretold by astrologers from across the globe, a time of closures, of necessary renunciations, and internal alignments: Liliana Díaz and Daniela Margarita articulate a poetic and visceral investigation centered on a primary and unsettling symbol: hair.
A residue of the body and a talisman of identity; an intimate archive of who we once were; a vestige of that which insists on remaining. The artists summon us to a ceremony that is both intimate and ambiguously festive, where gastronomy dialogues with performance, creation unfolds in real-time, and the altar stands as a space of transition.
Here, the gesture of care coexists with risk, listening with silence, and containment with loss. Amidst aromas, textures, and presences, one gives thanks, surrenders, and accepts. Inspired by the virtues of Taoism and shot through with a ritualistic playfulness reminiscent of Day of the Dead celebrations, this experience seeks not consolation, but revelation. It is an act of bidding farewell with beauty, of looking directly at that which falls away, and of honoring, with a certain luminous morbidity, the remains that constitute us.
